Bookings

Plans change and appliances sometimes fix themselves overnight. Cancelling or moving a visit with Rideau River Appliance Repair costs you nothing, as long as you let us know before the technician is on the road. Here is how it works.
Call (613) 484-3528 and tell us. There is no form and no cancellation fee. Lines are open seven days a week from 7 AM to 11 PM, so you can reach a person the same day you change your mind. If you would rather move the appointment than cancel it, say so on the call and we will find another window.
As much as you can give us, and ideally at least an hour before the start of your window. That hour is what lets us hand the slot to someone else who is waiting, which on a busy Saturday genuinely matters. Later than that is still fine, we would just rather hear from you than not.
If the technician arrives inside the agreed window and cannot get in, or cannot reach the appliance because it is blocked in or the power or water is off, that counts as a missed visit. We will call you from the door first and wait a reasonable time before leaving. A missed visit may be charged at the standard call-out rate, and we will always tell you before booking you in again.
You are never committed by the visit itself. The technician diagnoses the fault, quotes it in writing, and you decide. If you say no, you pay the flat diagnostic fee for the trip and the diagnosis, and nothing more. There is no pressure and no charge for the quote.
Most repairs use parts the technician already carries. When a job needs something ordered in specially, we tell you before we order it, because some parts cannot be returned once they are on their way. If you cancel after a special-order part has been bought for your appliance, the cost of that part may still be payable. Anything we can return, we return.
It happens. A job before yours turns out to be twice the work, a part does not arrive, or Ottawa weather makes the drive unsafe. If we are running late we call you rather than leave you watching the window. If we have to move the appointment altogether, you get the first slot that suits you, and any charge for that visit is on us if the delay was ours.
If you stop a repair partway through, you are charged for the labour and any parts already fitted up to that point, not for the whole quote. The technician will put the appliance back into a safe state before leaving and tell you plainly what condition it is in.
Nothing on this page removes the rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, which in certain cases lets you cancel an agreement made in your home. Those rights apply on top of this policy, not instead of it.
Need to move or cancel a booking? One call is all it takes.
