This page explains what personal information Rideau River Appliance Repair collects when you book an appliance repair or use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Rideau River Appliance Repair, 255 Ste-Anne Ave. #47, Ottawa, ON K1L 7C3, Canada. We are an in-home appliance repair company serving Ottawa. If you have a question about this policy, call (613) 484-3528 or write to us at the address above.
We only ask for what a repair visit needs:
We do not ask for your date of birth, your social insurance number or any government identification, and we do not store card numbers on this website.
To call you back and book a time, to reach the right address, to quote and invoice the work, to honour the 90-day warranty if the same fault returns, and to keep the records a repair business is expected to keep. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising by third parties.
When you submit the booking form or give us your details on the phone, you are consenting to us using them for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by calling (613) 484-3528, though we may not be able to complete a booking or a warranty claim without the information it needs.
Our technicians, and the service providers that keep this website and our booking system running. Those providers may process or store data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of the country it sits in. We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it. This site also embeds Google Maps, and Google may set cookies and receive your IP address when a map loads.
This site uses cookies to keep it working properly and to understand, in aggregate, which pages people read. That data is not used to identify you personally. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and the site will still work if you do.
Repair and invoice records are kept as long as tax and business record rules require. Enquiries that never became a booking are removed once they are clearly no longer active. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep them.
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to booking records is limited to the people who need it to do the job. No system is perfect, but we do not keep information we do not need, which is the simplest protection there is.
Under PIPEDA you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, and withdraw your consent to us using it. Call (613) 484-3528 and we will respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If we change how we handle personal information, we update this page and the date at the top of it. The version published here is the one that applies.
Questions about your information, or want it removed? Call and ask for the person handling privacy.
