LG Direct Drive Washer

Vanier · August 2026 · One visit

Symptom: Drum refusing to turn and an LE code within a minute of starting any cycle.
Found: Not the motor, which is what LE usually gets blamed for. The rotor bolt had worked loose, so the rotor was slipping on the shaft and the board read it as a stalled motor.
Fixed: Pulled the rotor, cleaned the splines, refitted and torqued the bolt properly, then ran a spin cycle under load to confirm. No parts, and no reason to sell a motor.
On site: About an hour.

LG French Door Fridge

Riverside South · July 2026 · Two visits

Symptom: Fridge and freezer both slowly warming over two days, but the unit still humming away as if nothing was wrong.
Found: Compressor running but not pumping, and no frost at all on the evaporator. A dead linear compressor, not a fan or a control fault.
Fixed: Checked the model against LG's own parts cover before quoting anything. It was still inside it, so the compressor came from LG and the owner paid for the labour only.
On site: A short first visit to diagnose, then half a day once the part landed.

LG Dishwasher

Barrhaven · July 2026 · One visit

Symptom: An AE leak warning stopping the cycle, though there was nothing wet on the kitchen floor.
Found: Water in the base tray had tripped the float sensor. It was seeping from a hairline split in the sump hose clamp, too slow to ever reach the floor.
Fixed: Replaced the hose and clamp, dried the tray out, reset the sensor and ran two cycles to be sure it stayed dry.
On site: Around 75 minutes.
